Welcome

Welcome to the Dyson-Mills Computer Science hub!

We are Mr. Dyson and Mr. Mills, and we teach Computer Science at a fantastic international primary school. This site is primarily designed as a living resource for the amazing staff and pupils we work with every day. However, education is all about collaboration! If you are a teacher visiting from elsewhere, we would absolutely love your feedback and ideas on how we can develop this site and our resources further.

In our lab, we don’t just stick to one single playbook. Our planning and teaching are heavily informed by a blend of world-class educational frameworks, including:

  • The British National Curriculum for Computing: This provides us with a highly structured, rigorous foundation in programming, computer science principles, and digital literacy.
  • ISTE Standards & CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards: These international benchmarks ensure our pupils are developing forward-thinking computational thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and responsible digital citizenship for a globally connected world.
  • Luxembourg Digital Education Strategies & AI Guidance (KI Kompass): Because we operate within Luxembourg, aligning with our local government’s digital curriculum and their latest, cutting-edge advice on navigating Artificial Intelligence in education is absolutely vital.
  • Why do we use all of them? We believe that no single curriculum holds all the answers. By weaving together the structural depth of the British curriculum, the innovative and global outlook of ISTE and CSTA, and the highly relevant, localized AI guidance from Luxembourg, we can offer a truly comprehensive, future-proof education for our pupils. It allows us to pull the best practices from around the world to meet the unique needs of our international student body.

But above all the standards, curricula, and planning—we have a lot of fun doing it!

Thanks for stopping by,

Adam and James
